Personal

I know, I know…the site needs a real design

As many of my colleagues/friends have pointed out, my blog looks terrible ;(. I really have to work on a new layout and design. Hopefully I can work that out by Christmas, who knows. Having worked with Drupal for years this shouldn’t be too difficult, but if anyone knows of a good base theme to use as a starting point for creating a new them, feel free to drop a comment! Otherwise I have to do some reading on Wordpress theming.

Update:  I changed the theme to something a bit more appealing, but I can’t say that I like it much if any more.  Hopefully I’ll have time to work on this a bit more seriously.

On the road…

Back on the road. Sittin at a bar getting ready to watch the philly/skins game. In philly no less! Starting a big project today, lots to get accomplished with tight deadlines. This afternoon, we receive a call from a number I don’t recognize. I answer the phone, they ask for my wife and I pass it off not knowing the absurdity to follow.  Turns out its my wife’s boss.  Naturally I figure its something to do with work or at least _relatively_ important.  My wife and her boss are friends, but their friendship couldn’t be considered “close”.  I doubt I could have been more wrong. I watch my wife get the details of her boss’ Facebook account.  Even at this point, I’m curious but not quite aware how ridiculous this is.  Then I see her open this game, I don’t know the name — nor do I care,  but she hops in the game to MAKE SURE HER BOSS’ VIRTUAL PIES DON’T BURN.  As absurd as it is, people do it every day — and enjoy it.  I’m no stranger of video games, I myself have played World of Warcraft for some time now, I just recently quit.  But at least there is something to work towards and competitiveness and difficulty associated with these sorts of game.
